Anzelle's Story

Creativity runs thick and deep in my family. My father was an artist, my mother a musician. I still clearly remember the day my father carefully explained to me that a shadow has a COLOUR. I grew up alongside visual vibrancy – so it was just natural to step into a livelihood built on design (after a long and boring stint in Corporate, just not my thing).

When I started out, I called my little business ‘Webweaver Webdesign‘, because building a website is remarkably similar to weaving a tapestry. The underside (what we designers might call the ‘back-end’) is full of technical threads and ends and sometimes patches – but the front, the part that YOU see, is intended to be a feast for the eyes.

As my 50th birthday approached, however, I started to rethink WHY and HOW I design and I began to wonder whether ‘Webweaver’ really still suited that aim. When Marvel announced that Webweaver was the name of their latest character, well, no offence to the Marvel fans – but I’m not a comic outfit. Webdesign is serious business here. Designing websites as Anzelle seemed a good way to mark a turn for me, a new season of confidence and skill that I have built up over the years. I want my name to stand for quality design and excellence.

If you’d like to see more of my work (the portfolio page here is a very small selection) or want to talk digital design, get in touch. I’m based in the Garden Route of South Africa but have helped clients in all parts of the world build a beautiful online presence.
